Dress Rehearsal is the second album by multi-award winner Canadian singer-songwriter Carolyn Dawn Johnson. The title song of her second album, Dress Rehearsal, underscores the tough truth that a dress rehearsal is exactly what life isn’t – that what we have instead is a perpetually brand-new moment that you have a single chance to make memorable. That is her philosophy and the new album illustrates it stunningly. In a genre whose history is littered with disappointing second albums by promising singer-songwriters overwhelmed by the demands of stardom, Carolyn has outdone her acclaimed first effort by a mile and has been rewarded with top 10 chart positions in Canada and America.

From the wildly joyous Head Over High Heels and My Little Secret to the emotional message songs We Talked and Complicated and the tradition-edged Die of a Broken Heart, Carolyn displays her prolific singing and writing skills with a power that even transcends that of her widely-praised debut album, Room with a View. And these titles are barely half of the notables among a group of songs written from eight years ago to virtually yesterday. The record is co-produced by Dann Huff - a power-sound specialist who has worked in studios with such varied female giants as Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Shania Twain and Donna Summer.

Caroline will shortly be paying a visit to the U.K. for the first time. She performs at London’s Borderline on February 22nd, the night after giving a special acoustic performance at a private reception for the Canadian High Commission in London.

Carolyn: “I have been looking forward to bringing my music overseas for a long time. It will be so good to visit and play for my British fans, it has always been part of my dream. Hopefully my real life experiences in my songs will move people in someway and they will understand where I come from.”
