Canadian singer-songwriter Carolyn Dawn Johnson will be
making her first live performance in Europe prior to the
release of her second studio album Dress Rehearsal. Having
already scored gold albums in Canada and America as a
recording artist and, previously, a number 1 as a songwriter
in the American single charts Carolyn is, at last, bringing
her acclaimed music to Britain. Carolyn: “I have been looking forward to bringing my music overseas for a long time. It will be so good to visit and play for my British fans, it has always been part of my dream. Hopefully my real life experiences in my songs will move people in someway and they will understand where I come from.” In 1999 Carolyn hit the top of the American charts as a song-writer when Single White Female went to number 1 for Chely Wright. Her first album as a recording artist, Room With A View, yielded 2 Canadian number 1 singles (Georgia and Complicated) and I Don’t Want You To Go and Complicated gave her 2 top 10 hit singles on the US Billboard charts. Carolyn’s awards tally is impressive - 8 CCMAs including 2001 and 2002 Female Artist of the Year, Juno Award (Canadian equivalent of the Grammy) in 2002, and 2003’s Favourite New Artist at the American Music Awards. Venue: Borderline, Yard Date: Tuesday February 22nd Doors: 7pm. Carolyn will be on stage at 8.30pm Tickets £8.00 0870 264 3333 / www.seetickets.com |
