"By booking such stars as Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Brad Paisley, the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon continues to hold the bar high when choosing musical entertainment for our concert," said Adam Zocks, General Manager for the event. "These talented artists will help us continue our track record of providing an exciting and powerful performance for the runners, volunteers and local Nashvillians."Carolyn Dawn Johnson's acclaimed Arista Nashville debut album, Room with a View, gave voice to the uplifting "One Day Closer to You," the bittersweet beauty of the title track, and such favorites as "Georgia," the Top 5 "Complicated" and the Top 10 smash, "I Don't Want You to Go."

Due in May, Johnson's new album follows the remarkable success of Room with a View. Certified Gold in her native Canada, the disc was warmly received by fans and critics and led to a string of awards, accolades, and high-profile tours with such artists as Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney.

Since 2001, Carolyn has won an amazing total of eight Canadian Country Music Awards (including Album of the Year in 2001 and Female Artist of the Year in 2001 and 2002), establishing all-time records in 2001 for most nominations (10) and most wins (five) in a single night. In 2002, Carolyn also won her first Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy) as Best Country Artist/Group.

Stateside, she was honored as the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist in 2002 and was nominated later that year for the prestigious CMA Horizon Award.

The Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon starts at West End Avenue near Centennial Park, winds its way in and out of the downtown area and finishes at The Coliseum. The two-day Fitness & Music Expo, expected to attract 35,000 attendees, will be held at the Nashville Convention Center.
