I had that title sitting in my notebook for
years. Shaye and I had been writing all day, but we really hadn’t gotten
anything. I was so busy on the road that we didn’t have a lot of time to get
together and write, and we just didn’t have anything that we were excited
about that day. I said, “Just let me look through my book one more time.” I
was going through my book and “Head Over High Heels” jumped out. I said,
“Okay, Shaye, this is a title you and I can totally write - I know it.” And
she laughed when she heard it, and we knew exactly what it was about. We
wanted it to be a total exaggeration of how everything looks and feels when
you fall in love. I was goofy-feeling in love at the time, so I could
definitely relate. |
