I wrote that back in ’97 and always loved it. Troy and Steve and I were sitting around, and I pulled out that title. They loved it, and Troy came up with the opening guitar melody. It was a pretty easy song to write, and it was my first cut - by two girls, a duo called Redmon & Vale, on DreamWorks. They were going in the studio right away, and we pitched them the song at the publishing company. We had just written it the day before, so we just had a guitar-vocal on it, and it got cut off of that. They did it kind of different - swampier and bluesier. I always thought I’d cut it someday, because I used to do it live a lot. I love singing it, and there was always a great response to it.
