That was just a little blip that I had written down. I had written a thing - “A couple inches taller/Another size smaller/A little curl in my hair” - all my own little secret wishes about myself. And I went over to Troy’s house one night to write, and I don’t know why I got on this subject, but I pulled this thing out and I was saying I feel like I need to tell my fans (some of whom think I’m perfect, but I’m not) that I have things that I don’t like about myself, either. But I’m learning to like those things, and it’s okay. Because you get letters, you know, saying, “I wish I could do this, but I’m like this,” and you really do feel bad for them, and you just go, “We’re all different, we’re all made for a reason.” Somehow, talking about this, I said to Troy, “We’re all made for a reason, and God doesn’t make mistakes.” Then we were like, that’s what this song is about.
