My co-writer and I were actually writing another
song called “Someone to Love,” about how basically throughout your whole
life, things change, but you always want someone to love. We were talking
about finding our soulmates, being in love, and communication and how
important it is when you find that someone. He then told me a story from his
own life. He said, “You know, it was really weird, I thought everything was
great, our marriage was perfect, but we got really busy, and we talked less
and less and next thing we knew, I felt like, ‘Does she love me?’ and she’s
like, ‘Does he love me?’” And they decided to go to counseling, and the
counselor asked them one question, and they started talking and talking and
talking. The counselor just sat there, and then he said, “Okay, you
guys do not need me. You just need to go home and talk.” They went home, and
the next morning they started talking, and they talked all day long and into
the night. And as he was telling me this, I got totally emotional. I said,
“Oh my goodness, Craig, we have to write this song.” And he was like, “I
love the song we’re writing, we should finish this one first.” So I said, “I
hear some things, let me put them down on tape before I forget.” |
