I’LL LET YOU GO
(CDJ/Shaye Smith)

It’s a story song. Some people see it as a father-daughter relationship. It’s written from my own personal experience, but it’s with my brother. So it’s just a true story. I wrote it with Shaye, and I can only write those things with people who are close to me. Then they end up having to be on the record because they’re my life and family. I just want people to find their own interpretation and go with it. It’s sort of like my “Room with a View” situation on the first record. I never wanted that to be a single: I just don’t want to go there. Some things I don’t want to use for fame, but they should be on there, because those are things that some people need. “Room with a View” has gotten so many letters, and pretty much at every show, I get a lot of comments and personal stories about it. I know that it helped people heal, and that’s a great feeling.
