This is an absolute camera snapshot of the peace in my life with my husband, Matt. I also wrote it with Charlie Black, who has been very happily married for the last few years, and it was just simple. We were sitting there, had nothing to write about, and I just basically said, “Usually my best songs come when I’m talking about life as we know it, just the real stuff.” And he’s like, “Life as we know it. Life as we know it. That might be the song.” Then we wrote it.
